Kitchen notes
To get the best Bacon Jalapeno Peppers Recipe results everytime, follow our handy tips and tricks!
Give them space. To get perfectly crisp bacon, it should have space around it, so it doesn't sit next to other poppers – or it will come out soggy and not crisp!
Set it on a rack. We like to cook these by putting them on top of a cookie cooling rack on top of a baking sheet instead of placing directly on a baking sheet – this helps air circulate around the poppers and helps the bacon crisp evenly!
Handle with care. Since these poppers don't have a batter around them, the bacon can fall off if you handle it too much. Minimize how many times you pick up the bacon to keep its shape!
Make ahead and bake right before your party. These bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead of your party (wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate if pre-assembling.) so there is no excuse not to have a batch whipped up and ready to go when it's party time – pop them in the oven before the party starts!
How to Make Bacon Wrapped Cheddar and Garlic Jalapeno Poppers
Luckily, these keto jalapeno poppers are simple – and only need ingredients and tools you probably already have on hand.
Baking sheet.
Cookie cooling rack that fits over your baking sheet.
Large Mixing bowl.
Spoon.
Sharp knife.
Plastic gloves (optional – jalapeno membrane can hurt to touch after a while – it can sometimes hurt hours and hours later. To prevent, wear plastic gloves – or even slather your hands in olive oil before cutting. The oil can help to prevent jalapeno oil, which stings, from absorbing into your skin – but gloves are the best way to prevent this.)
How to Get Rid Of Jalapeño Sting
If for some reason you don't wear gloves, and find your hands stinging hours after you made these jalapeno poppers – you can get rid of the stinging by alternating rinsing with cold water and soap, and rubbing hands in olive oil.
It can help loosen the jalapeno's oils from your hands and reduce the stinging.
You can also dip your hands in cold milk to help lessen a stinging – all the more reason to consider wearing gloves when removing the seeds and membranes from the jalapenos.
